Former sugar factory in Groningen heated by Mark black tube heaters

From sugar factory to event location

The former sugar factory is an old production location of the Suikerunie where sugar beet was processed into granulated sugar. Today, the building and grounds are used as an event venue. The building, dating from 1913, has been completely cleared out, giving it a rough appearance on the inside. To ensure that visitors to the various events experience a pleasant temperature in the building, all-round installer Drenth Installatietechniek installed Mark INFRA black tube radiant heaters.

Pleasant heating

The infra-red heaters that have been installed consist of four Mark INFRA LINE black tube heaters type 90/44 with a length of 40 meters each and two INFRA radiant heaters type 30/9 with a length of 9 meters each. With this, the main hall, restaurant, cafe, vestibule and entrance are comfortably heated. In addition, five Mark MDV BLUE roof extraction fans provide the main hall and the restaurant with extra fresh air, which is supplied through the outer walls.

Due to the height of the building and the large volume requiring heating, the energy-efficient INFRAs are an extremely suitable solution for the former sugar factory. It was decided to use devices not causing air movement and producing low noise, to give visitors a comfortable feeling. The infra-red tube heaters also had to be suitable for propane, as there is no natural gas connection in the building. The total power of the radiant heaters is 420 kW.
